Innovation and Technology (IT) Consulting
America’s Roadmap to Prosperity is through Innovation and Technology for individuals, businesses, and the nation.
Unfortunately, as a society, we are bad at Innovation and Technology Management. As examples, business startups, corporate mergers, corporate reorganizations, information technology projects, and other corporate change initiatives fail more than half the time. Many of these initiatives lose more money than they save after just a few years.
To survive, one must successfully use both Management and Technological Innovations to continuously improve while delivering a transformational improvement periodically. To thrive, individuals, businesses, and nations must adopt the perspective of a Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) at all levels to create a culture of successful Innovation and Technology (IT) Management that continuously produces more transformational improvements than failures to deliver new and improved products and services that are faster, better, and cheaper than the competition to create competitive advantages and add value. This culture is called the Innovation and Technology (IT) Culture.
The Innovation and Technology (IT) Consulting services we offer can help you develop the CIO Perspective and the IT Culture in your organization to realize your Strategic Vision or support you in any of your Innovation or Technology endeavors.
Chief Innovation Officer Perspective
Innovation can be messy, hard to explain, and even harder to replicate in the beginning as one grapples with identifying the existing IT perspectives, infrastructures, systems, and processes that lead to innovation or hinder it in your organization. Building the CIO Perspective, supporting systems, and supporting processes are the foundation for success as it allows workers, managers, and leaders at all levels to identify and act on opportunities that align with the organization’s Strategic Vision rapidly and cost effectively to add value and create competitive advantages.
The first steps in an IT engagement are to start developing your organization’s CIO Perspective and identify opportunities. This includes an initial consultation to determine the aim of senior leadership in creating a Strategic Vision, IT Strategy, and IT Roadmap, some training, and identifying your existing IT perspectives, infrastructures, systems, and processes.
IT Audits
Innovation and Technology (IT) Audits are the next step of an IT engagement after initial consultation and introduction of the CIO Perspective and IT Culture. This step involves introducing the next level of organizational leadership to the CIO Perspective and IT Culture and validating the understanding of IT perspectives, infrastructures, systems, and processes the organization’s senior leadership identified during the initial consultation. During these cooperative audits with mid-level leadership and subject matter experts, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats will be identified as challenges to be addressed. Identified challenges could range anywhere from management practices to Information Technology infrastructure, etc. Stand-alone Information Technology audits are also offered as a service.
IT Strategy and Roadmap Development
Innovation and Technology (IT) Strategy and Roadmap Development is the third step in an IT engagement. During this phase of the consultation, we will work with the organization’s midlevel leadership and subject matter experts to develop an initial IT Strategy and Roadmap. The IT Roadmap will include prioritizing the challenges identified in the IT Audits. The draft IT Strategy and Roadmap will then be finalized working with both midlevel and senior leadership. Finalization of the IT Strategy and Roadmap will include updating the Strategic Vision if needed. The Strategy and Roadmap development can encompass the entire Innovation and Technology process or be restricted to just Information Technology.
IT Project Management
Innovation and Technology (IT) Project Management is the fourth step in an IT engagement. This phase of the consultation drives the CIO Perspective and IT Culture to the next levels of the organization including to the project subject matter experts and to the operations experts that take over the responsibilities after the project has been implemented. The projects supported by this service can be Innovation and Technology Roadmap projects or existing Management, Information Technology, or other projects.
IT Culture Development
Innovation and Technology (IT) Culture Development is the process of using additional approaches to further extend and re-enforce the CIO Perspective and IT Culture at all levels of the organization.
Re-assessment
This is the final step in an IT engagement. However, this does not imply an end to the implementation of the CIO Perspective, but a transition to an ongoing process that can be supported by internally developed talent or a consultant. This re-assessment can also be targeted to Information Technology specifically or can include the entire Innovation and Technology process.
