Our approach to Innovation and Technology Consulting is to adopt the Chief Innovation Officer's (CIO) Perspective in all aspects of Innovation, Operations, and Security and use that perspective to consult, train, implement projects and to develop that perspective at all levels of client organizations to create an Innovation and Technology (IT) Culture that continuously delivers incremental and transformational management and technological innovations that increase productivity, add value, and create competitive advantages to make sales and earn above average profits.
Our Story
The creation of America's Roadmap was inspired by knowledge John Potes, our Principal Innovation and Technology Consultant, developed over years of participating in global electronics contract manufacturing merger, acquisition, and new business opportunities as the Information Technology Lead or supporting team member.
Participating in these endeavors utilized not just his Information Technology expertise, but his background in business and continuous improvement. When the team would gather to work through the details of an opportunity, he understood most of the details discussed by the functional representatives gathered around the table. He came to fully appreciate all the factors that were taken into consideration in selecting the location of manufacturing and how even very small differences could sway the decision of where to manufacture.
Repeatedly, the subjects of taxes and regulation in relation to the total cost of the proposal came up in discussing the potential manufacturing site locations around the globe. Even if the company he worked for had the best factory in the world to make a particular product from speed of delivery, quality, and manufacturing cost perspectives, it was possible it would lose the contract because it was located in the wrong country or region from a tax and regulatory perspective making the total cost proposition a losing bid.
This lit a fire in him to understand in detail all the ways an individual, business, or nation could improve their competitive position. Americas Roadmap, LLC was formed to inform and offer solutions to American businesses and entrepreneurs to help them realize the vision offered by America’s Roadmap through Innovation and Technology that increases productivity, adds value, and creates competitive advantages to win sales and earn profits.

John Potes
Innovation and Technology Consultant
John Potes is an Innovation and Technology (IT) professional with over 20 years of experience in IT including both technical and project management experience. He is an expert at creating IT solutions offered to both internal and external customers beginning with opportunity identification and continuing through service delivery. John has managed and controlled solutions from both service delivery manager and customer perspectives as defined in contract Service Level Agreements (SLA) or Transitional Service Agreements (TSA). He has managed the Windows infrastructure and Active Directory of a small enterprise with over 1,000 servers and over 20,000 workstations and managed the IT infrastructure and security, including Windows and Exchange infrastructures, of another small enterprise with over 200 servers and 5,000 workstations. Additionally, he has integrated and built out sites in multiple countries. Further, he has audited and remediated numerous IT infrastructures and Windows Active Directories from best practice (ITIL, etc.), corporate policy, regulatory compliance (SOX, etc.), asset, licensing, architecture, operations, and security perspectives resulting in greatly improved IT infrastructures and increased productivity while saving millions of dollars. Finally, he has represented IT as the lead or supporting team member in numerous mergers, acquisitions, and new businesses opportunities.
